Biography: Born in Detroit to two film fanatics could easily explain why I have always inhaled the cinema as it is and always will be like air to me. Both parents were musicians, so music was in my blood. One can see how the debut of MTV coupled with the movies of the 80s that would define me. The key to any music video and film for that is always story. I have been drawn to stories and started writing my own and reacting to the ones I saw on the silver screen at an early age. But it wasn’t until I was recovering from a hand surgery in the late 90s — with the help of some voice activated software — that I produced by first published review. It was for Almost Famous and the local paper at the end of my street ran it and the rest is history. Almost two-decades later now, I have penned movie reviews for thousands of films, reached millions of readers and my passion for the medium has only grown with time and taken me around the world, from Rio to Paris. My work can currently be seen on my personal website, TheMovieMensch.com and various other publications.
