Joel Amos

Media Affiliations: The Movie Mensch and ScreenPicks

Biography: Born in Detroit to two film fanatics could easily explain why I have always inhaled the cinema as it is and always will be like air to me. Both parents were musicians, so music was in my blood. One can see how the debut of MTV coupled with the movies of the 80s that would define me. The key to any music video and film for that is always story. I have been drawn to stories and started writing my own and reacting to the ones I saw on the silver screen at an early age. But it wasn't until I was recovering from a hand surgery in the late 90s -- with the help of some voice activated software -- that I produced by first published review. It was for Almost Famous and the local paper at the end of my street ran it and the rest is history.  Almost two-decades later now, I have penned movie reviews for thousands of films, reached millions of readers and my passion for the medium has only grown with time and taken me around the world, from Rio to Paris. My work can currently be seen on my personal website, and various other publications.

Favorite Films: Goodfellas, Being There, Close Encounters,  Almost Famous, Empire Strikes Back, Casablanca, The Holy Grail, Back to the Future, To Live and Die in L.A., Amadeus, Pulp Fiction, Raiders of the Lost Ark, To Kill a Mockingbird, Boogie Nights, Dog Day Afternoon, Head, Snatch, The Shining, Apocalypse Now, Midnight Run, Rocky, Jaws, Fargo, The Philadelphia Story, Citizen Kane, The Princess Bride, The 39 Steps, Blade Runner, Tender Mercies, The Breakfast Club, The African Queen, Dazed and Confused, Whiplash, Dr. Strangelove, Jurassic Park, The Big Lebowski, Se7en, This Is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally, and American Psycho.

Kit Bowen

Kit Bowen

Media Affiliation: ScreenPicks, The Movie Kit, Rotten Tomatoes, Fandango, and Screen Rant

Biography: Kit Bowen has turned her extraordinary passion for all things entertainment into a long and varied career in the entertainment business. It started as a kid, watching old flicks with her mom on TV and going to see Disney movies on the big screen. The passion only grew as she got older, and for a brief moment, she wanted to be an actress. Kit attended UCLA to study theater arts  but instead opted to get a B.A. in English. A wise choice, as it turns out.

For over 15 years, Kit has been an online entertainment journalist, reporter and film critic, writing for sites such as ScreenPicks, Screen Rant, Fandango, ExtraTV and You can also watch her mixing it up on camera with celebrities on Rotten Tomatoes and We Got This Covered. Oh, and she has a blog (as you do) called TheMovieKit, and when she updates it, shares her thoughts on movies, including a new web video series called The Movie Kit Happy Hour.  On the whole, Kit just thinks of herself as a walking IMDb, and there really isn't a genre she doesn't enjoy to some degree. Action and sci-fi movies are her favs, though, and she is defined by how times she has seen Jaws. It's a lot.

Eric Eisenberg

Media Affiliation: CinemaBlend

Biography: Originally hailing from Northern New Jersey, Eric's first big screen memory is freaking out at a screening of Naked Gun 2 1/2 - specifically when Frank Drebin gets an electric toothbrush shoved in his mouth and foam starts spewing out. He, fortunately, recovered from that incident, becoming fascinated with film thanks to the '90s indie movement and writer/directors like Quentin Tarantino, the Coen brothers, Robert Rodriguez, and Richard Linklater. Truly, though, it was a 7th grade English class project and a screening of Casablanca that first convinced him he wanted to be a critic.

Eric attended Boston University and earned a B.S. in Journalism - all the while never ceasing his arguably unhealthy movie-watching habits. Shortly after graduation, he took a part-time job as a staff writer for CinemaBlend, and after six months was offered the opportunity to move to Los Angeles and take on a newly-created West Coast Editor position.

Since then his title has changed - now the Events Editor for the site - but the work for CinemaBlend continues. In addition to film reviews, Eric also conducts interviews with filmmakers and actors, contributes features and editorials, and hosts both a weekly Facebook Live show and podcast called Hero Blend.
